Italian Grand Prix: Exciting FP1 Session at Monza

Monza wakes up to the sound of Formula 1 this weekend, and the Italian Grand Prix opens with a first practice session that carries more intrigue than usual.

FP1 at the Autodromo Nazionale Monza starts at 12:30 local time (11:30 in the UK), a single, intense 60‑minute window in which teams must juggle set-up work for one of the fastest circuits on the calendar with a different kind of priority: youth.

Several outfits are handing their cars to rookies, using up one of their mandatory young driver slots and throwing the next generation straight into the deep end on one of F1’s most unforgiving layouts. Long straights, heavy braking zones, and little room for error. It is a thrilling classroom.
