Manchester United Set to Sign Sweden Winger Monica Jusu Bah

Manchester United are set to make Monica Jusu Bah the latest piece of their summer rebuild, after agreeing terms to sign the Sweden winger from BK Häcken.

The 23-year-old is expected to complete the move before next Thursday’s Women’s Super League transfer deadline, with only the final details standing between her and a first crack at English football.

United will pay a fee to Häcken, with the figure currently undisclosed. Jusu Bah signed an extension with the Swedish club in September 2025, tying her down until 2028, so prising her away has not come cheap. United, though, have decided she is worth the push.

Jusu Bah has spent her entire career in Sweden, coming through at Umeå before earning her move to Häcken in 2023. Her rise has been sharp. Her impact, immediate.

In May, she helped Häcken lift the inaugural Women’s Europa Cup, adding European silverware to a growing résumé that has caught the eye well beyond Damallsvenskan. The winger’s blend of direct running and end product has turned her into one of the league’s most watchable attackers.

That form has translated to the international stage. Jusu Bah has already collected 11 caps for Sweden and has featured in all six of their Women’s World Cup qualifying matches this year, trusted on the biggest nights of the campaign.

For United, this is not a one-off splash but part of a broader push to refresh the squad before the window shuts. The club are understood to be targeting at least one more signing in the coming days as they try to close the gap on the WSL’s frontrunners.

The groundwork has already begun. Defender Andrea Medina has arrived from Atletico Madrid, adding bite and composure at the back, while goalkeeper Janina Leitzig has joined from Leicester City to stiffen competition between the posts.

Now comes Jusu Bah, on the brink of swapping Gothenburg for Manchester and the Damallsvenskan for the unforgiving rhythm of the WSL.
