Juventus Pursues Kessie for Midfield Reinforcement
Franck Kessie has made up his mind. After three lucrative, trophy-laden years in Saudi Arabia with Al Ahli, the Ivorian midfielder wants Juventus – and he wants the move wrapped up within days, not weeks.
At 27, with offers on the table from Turkiye and the Saudi Pro League, Kessie could easily stay where the money flows. Instead, he is chasing something else: a final, high-level chapter in Europe. For that, he has picked the Bianconeri.
A proven Serie A force
This is not a gamble for Juventus. Kessie has already dominated Serie A once, driving AC Milan’s midfield with the blend of power, discipline and goals that made him one of the league’s most complete midfielders.
Juventus know exactly what they are trying to buy. A player who can shield the defence, burst through lines, and arrive in the box with timing that unsettles any back four. A player with presence. Personality. Someone who does not hide when the game turns ugly.
The club, though, has a familiar problem: the wage bill. To bring Kessie in, Juventus must first push players out. Sales are being worked on to clear space, both financially and within a crowded midfield group. The plan is clear – make room, then move.

Speaking to Calciomercato, the former Juventus director did not hold back in his assessment of what Kessie could bring.
“This situation can be overcome with a level reinforcement in midfield, which is why in the event of Kessiè's arrival I would say the managers are good. The former AC Milan player is someone who can bring order and personality, has the leg and can score goals, can act as a barrier and facilitate counterattacks. I have faith in Carnevali and Massara and the Juventus fans must have it too, let's let them work.”
Order. Personality. Goals. Protection. Transition. It is a checklist of everything Juventus have lacked in one department for several seasons.
When a figure like Moggi publicly backs a move, it does more than fill column inches. It raises expectation. It applies pressure on the club to finish the job.
Juventus hold the key
For now, the deal rests on numbers rather than desire. Kessie has made Juventus his priority, turning down richer offers to chase a return to the European stage with a club that still carries enormous weight.
That gives Juventus a crucial advantage in negotiations. They do not need to outbid Saudi or Turkiye; they need to organise their own house, trim the wage bill, and move decisively.
If the outgoing deals fall into place, Kessie will walk back into Serie A with a point to prove and a midfield to anchor.
The question is no longer whether he wants Juventus. It is whether Juventus can move quickly enough to bring in the kind of midfielder they have been missing for years.
