England Stick with Sonny Baker for Edgbaston Finale

England have kept faith with Sonny Baker for the third and final Test against Pakistan at Edgbaston, confirming the young seamer’s place in an unchanged core bowling group while Brydon Carse remains out of contention.

Carse, 31, has not featured since an incident outside a Derby nightclub on August 22, when police briefly handcuffed him. He was subsequently omitted from the second Test at Lord’s and continues to be under investigation, leaving England to close out the series without him.

The selectors have made only one adjustment to the wider group: seamer Matthew Fisher has been dropped. Baker, by contrast, holds his spot, a clear sign that the management want continuity as they look to finish the job.

England lead the series 2-0 and arrive in Birmingham with the chance to complete a clean sweep against Pakistan.

The third Test at Edgbaston starts on September 9, with the hosts chasing not just another win, but a statement end to the summer.
