That registration was not a downgrade or an afterthought; it was part of the plan from day one. Whenever opportunities in the first team dry up, he will drop down to Juliano Belletti’s side to keep his match sharpness intact.

Barcelona know there will be stretches when Flick cannot offer the teenager many minutes. Title races, Champions League nights, and tight rotations tend to squeeze young strikers hardest. The solution is to make sure he does not stand still.
