Millwall Holds Firm on Femi Azeez Amid Brighton's £15m Bid

Millwall have drawn a clear line in the sand over Femi Azeez – and Brighton have not crossed it yet.

The Championship club have slapped a £15m price tag on the winger after a series of approaches from the south-coast side, who have already tested Millwall’s resolve twice with offers totalling just over £10m.

Brighton’s interest, first revealed by BBC Sport, has not gone away. If anything, it has sharpened. Azeez is understood to be keen on the move to the Amex Stadium and the chance to step into the Premier League, and he sits high on Brighton’s list of targets heading into the final days before Tuesday’s transfer deadline.

The problem is the gap. Millwall value him at £15m; Brighton are still around £5m short. Until that changes, the deal sits in limbo.

Millwall’s stance is firm but not immovable. The south London club are prepared to let the Nigeria international take the next step in his career, but only if their valuation is met. They paid around £1m to sign him from Reading in 2024 and, with 24 months left on his contract, they know this is a pivotal moment to cash in or commit.

On the pitch, his absence tells its own story. Azeez has been left out of Millwall’s last three matches as the speculation swirls, a notable omission given his influence last season: 11 goals and 11 assists in 35 league games, form that earned him a place in the PFA Championship Team of the Year.

Those numbers have not gone unnoticed. Fellow Championship side Wrexham are also believed to have shown interest, a sign of how highly he is rated across the division. But for Azeez, the priority is clear. The Premier League is the target, and Brighton are the club pushing hardest to give him that platform.

As deadline day looms, the situation is stripped back to its essentials. Brighton want him. Azeez wants the move. Millwall want £15m.

Someone will have to blink.
