Karim Benzema stands at another crossroads. The clock is ticking on the summer window, his time at Al-Hilal is slipping away, and yet his next destination remains a puzzle with several missing pieces.

According to AS, Benzema is seriously considering staying in Saudi Arabia. Not necessarily at Al-Hilal, but within the league he has come to know over the past seasons.

No European comeback – for now

The French club have been heavily linked with their academy icon, the striker who left as a prodigy and returned to Europe as a legend at Real Madrid. For now, that reunion is off the table.

Europe, at least in the short term, is not where Benzema sees his future.

America calling, Scotland lurking

If he does walk away from Saudi Arabia altogether, one destination stands out above the rest: the American league.

A move to the United States has emerged as the clearest alternative. The appeal is obvious – a growing competition, a lifestyle many veterans embrace, and a league that has already welcomed several of his former rivals and contemporaries.

Reports also keep Scotland in the frame. A spell in the Scottish league would be a very different kind of challenge: intense atmospheres, historic rivalries, and a demanding schedule in a smaller but fiercely competitive environment. Retirement talk lingers, but Benzema keeps the door open

Uncertainty hangs over every option, but one thing is not yet on Benzema’s agenda: a clean, definitive goodbye.

AS report that the Frenchman has no plans to retire at this stage. Marca, though, suggest retirement has not been ruled out entirely, leaving that possibility hovering in the background. It is not the plan, but it is not off the board either.
