Bradley Barcola Joins Liverpool: A New Era Begins
Bradley Barcola has walked through the doors at the AXA Training Centre and straight into Liverpool’s future.
The French forward has signed a long-term deal with the club after completing his medical, and will wear the No.29 shirt for the Reds. The move ends a drawn-out pursuit and delivers to Anfield one of Europe’s most versatile attacking talents.
"It's a great pride to be able to play for Liverpool. I'm very happy," Barcola told Liverpoolfc.com after signing. "It took a long time but I'm really happy today to be able to play for Liverpool and all I want is to be on the pitch and be able to play.
"I hope to achieve very big things. First of all, winning the Premier League – it's one of my biggest dreams in my life. It is to do that and to stay in this team in the long term – that's why I signed a long contract – and I hope I can do it."
A serial winner arrives
Barcola joins Liverpool on the back of a trophy-laden spell with PSG that underlines why the club pushed so hard to bring him in. Across three seasons in Paris, he made 152 appearances, scored 39 goals and supplied 35 assists, operating across every position on the front line.
He did it while collecting major honours at a rate that would catch any elite club’s eye. At Parc des Princes he helped PSG to back-to-back Champions League titles and three consecutive Ligue 1 crowns, building a résumé that already belongs to a player accustomed to the sharp end of the game.
Before Paris, there was Lyon. Olympique Lyonnais handed him his senior debut in November 2021, and he wasted little time making an impression. In 47 outings for the club where he came through, he produced seven goals and 11 assists, enough to convince PSG to move for him in August 2023.
Rising force for France
His club rise has been mirrored on the international stage. Barcola made his France debut in June 2024 and has already collected 28 caps, scoring six times for his country.
Three of those goals came at this summer’s World Cup, where he featured in every game as France battled their way to a fourth-placed finish. On the biggest stage, under the brightest lights, he did not shrink.
Now he swaps Parc des Princes for Anfield, Ligue 1 for the Premier League, and joins a club whose own expectations match his. He has spoken openly about his dream: to win the Premier League and to do it as a long-term pillar of this Liverpool side.
