San Diego FC Sign Striker Cedric for Scoring Power

San Diego FC have moved decisively to add serious scoring pedigree to their attack, unveiling Congolese striker Cedric as the club’s latest marquee arrival.

Sporting director Tyler Heaps did not hold back when outlining what the veteran brings to the project.

“Cedric brings an incredible level of experience and proven quality to San Diego FC,” Heaps said in the club’s announcement, highlighting a career that has taken the forward across Europe’s major leagues and onto the international stage with DR Congo.

Heaps stressed that this is not just another signing, but a statement of intent.

“He has built an outstanding career competing at the highest levels in Europe and internationally, and his ability to consistently find the back of the net has been a defining part of his game,” he said. “He understands what it takes to perform on the biggest stages and brings a winning mentality that will be extremely valuable to our group.”

Those numbers back him up. Since breaking through at Sochaux, Cedric has stacked up 191 goals and 49 assists in 492 club appearances, a body of work built across demanding stops at Villarreal, Marseille, Olympiacos, and Galatasaray. He has been just as important for his country, scoring 21 times in 72 caps for DR Congo and appearing at four Africa Cup of Nations tournaments.

For a club with ambition, that kind of résumé matters. It brings know-how, but also a certain edge in decisive moments.

Heaps underlined the human side of the move as well as the sporting one. “We’re thrilled to welcome Cedric and his family to San Diego and look forward to seeing him make his mark with our club,” he added.

On the pitch, the fit looks intriguing. Cedric joins a frontline that already includes Anders Dreyer, Marcus Ingvartsen, and fellow 2026 World Cup forward Elias Achouri.
