Eli Junior Kroupi’s rise has been rapid. The recognition is catching up.

The Bournemouth forward has been shortlisted for the Men’s Young Talent of the Year award ahead of the 2026 Ballon d'Or ceremony, a landmark nod for a player who only made his Premier League debut a year ago.

At 20, Kroupi stands among the most exciting prospects in Europe. He is one of three Premier League names on the 10-player list, joined by Manchester City’s Ayyoub Bouaddi and Aston Villa’s Johan Manzambi, underlining the league’s growing influence on the next generation of stars.

This is not a nomination built on hype. It comes off the back of a breakout 2025-26 campaign in which Kroupi became Bournemouth’s unexpected spearhead.

Since stepping onto the pitch for his debut in August 2025, he racked up 35 appearances across all competitions, scoring 13 goals and quickly turning from promising signing into genuine match-winner. His movement unsettled defences, his finishing sharpened with every month, and the numbers told the story: no teenager has ever scored more goals in their debut Premier League season.
